(PNTU) - On 7th March 2021, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine's representatives met up with leaders from Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Health to discuss future cooperation regarding the organization of CME classes on hospital and public health management.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Doctor Tang Chi Thuong – Secretary of Communist Party Committee, Vice President of Department of Health in Ho Chi Minh City - praised Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine for having clear vision and being quick to cooperate with Department of Health to provide CME classes on hospital and public health management, satisfying realistic demand at many hospitals and health centers across Ho Chi Minh City.
As for the CME classes on hospital and public health management, Assoc.Prof.Doctor Tang Chi Thuong - also Head of Hospital Management Department of PNTU - informed that in the past years, the Department of Health in Ho Chi Minh City has opened 03 classes with approximately 600 students in cooperation with University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, PNTU has to be quick to catch up with this trend by putting forward programs of organizing appropriate classes amidst the pandemic before September of this year, and hopefully in the future, the University will set up more CME classes to train and strengthen the medical workforce of the city.
In response to Assoc.Prof.Doctor Tang Chi Thuong's statement, Assoc.Prof.Doctor Nguyen Thanh Hiep - Vice President of PNTU responsible for organization and operation - presented the clear overview of future cooperation with the Department of Health in opening, sustaining, and later, extending to other regions, training classes, in order to provide realistic knowledge, satisfy the demand of the healthcare industry, and enhance the university's reputation. Assoc.Prof.Doctor Hiep also mentioned that in the future, PNTU will establish training institutes on Medical Management to teach undergraduates and postgraduates in Hospital Management, and the long-term classes are the initiation of the plan.
Lectures are given both online and in-class to fit in with the current situation of the pandemic. The curriculum is initially similar to the classes of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City and will be tailored to the needs of students in each course.

At the end of the meeting, Assoc.Prof. Doctor Thuong hope that the Department of Health in Ho Chi Minh City and the University will always cooperate in training with the goal of both improving the quality of the city's healthcare system and bringing Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine to a new level. /.
